If there is one thing Singaporeans have in common with Israelis, it is a love for casual styles.
Or at least that is what Ms. Nira Dror-Shoshani, 46, has observed in her 10 years of living here.
"Perhaps we are even more casual. Simple cotton dresses are also acceptable at weddings" says Ms Dror-Shoshani, who moved to Singapore when her husband was posted here for work.
She runs Unika, a boutique across from Great World city in Zion Road, which stocks Israel casual wear brands. The name is a play on the work unique.
"I like Japanese culture, so I thought putting "Ka" at the end would make it sound Japanese" says Ms. Dror-Shoshani with a laugh."
The store is indeed rather unique as none of its brands is available elsewhere in Singapore.
